This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
9:22 p.m.: Rambo Ruben, 34, of Warrensburg, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to West Ninth Street and South Quincy Avenue to assist with a traffic stop. Ruben was involved in a motor vehicle crash and was intoxicated. He was transported to the police department then the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and driving while intoxicated - alcohol.
6:43 p.m.: Steven Edward Beeler, 45, of Mora, was arrested after a traffic stop at North Ohio Avenue and East Morgan Street for a motorcycle operated by an individual with a suspended driving status. He was transported to the police department, issued a uniform traffic ticket for driving with a suspended license, and released.
7:42 p.m.: Leon Beamon Jr., of the 1500 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a trespass. Beamon was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released for first-degree trespassing.
1:27 a.m.: Cade Spencer Jones, 26, of the 600 block of West 16th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop on Dennis Road near Sue Lane for driving on the wrong side of the road. It was determined the driver was intoxicated and Jones was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center, then the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving while intoxicated - drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
7:52 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of property damage. The caller stated sometime overnight, someone damaged the back window of her work vehicle. She believes she knows the suspect.
1:21 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in reference to a theft. The complainant stated two male subjects came into the store and stole various items. One of the subjects has been identified and state charges are being requested.
7:01 a.m.: An officer took a theft report from the 600 block of East 17th Street. The victim stated that in the overnight hours, an unknown suspect stole approximately $2,450 worth of items out of their vehicle.
7:09 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of James Road in reference to a domestic disturbance. One of the parties fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving on scene and attempts to contact them were unsuccessful. Charges of second-degree domestic assault are being recommended to the prosecutor.
8:01 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a burglary in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. A screen door on the northeast side of the residence was damaged. However, access to the home was not made. The residence was cleared and photographs of the damage were taken.
8:19 a.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby in reference to stolen property. The complainant stated her license plates were stolen from her vehicle in the 500 block of East Harvey Avenue. The plates were entered into the system as stolen.
10:15 a.m.: An officer was dispatched on a theft report that took place somewhere on the Katy Trail. The victim stated her husband dropped his wallet, which contained credit cards, ID cards and $550 in cash, on the trail.
11:35 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of East Jackson Road for a report of theft. The victim stated someone stole a cord of wood out of his backyard. He estimated the wood’s value at $200.
12:45 a.m.: An officer responded to the 2500 block of Dennis Road to investigate reported abuse. A Department of Mental Health investigator requested police respond to the address to check the well-being of a victim. While on scene, officers learned an assault had taken place. No contact has been made with the suspect.
3:29 p.m.: Jay A. Kleeman, 51, of Clinton, was arrested in Saline County for felony driving while intoxicated - aggravated, and careless and imprudent driving. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
