This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 23

6:41 p.m.: Dale R. Sims, of the 400 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 500 block of West Main Street for a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene. The victim stated she wanted to pursue charges for assault. Sims was later located and issued a citation for assault. 

Incidents

April 29

6:51 a.m.: An officer met with a victim in the SPD lobby in reference to a theft. The victim advised that a former employee of his unlawfully used the business debit card to make several purchases from a local business.

1:02 p.m.: An investigation was opened into whether a victim in the 1800 block of East 14th Street was being financially exploited by their relatives. A follow-up will be conducted to try and determine whether a crime was committed.

1:26 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1100 block of Water Tower Road for a report of a theft. Contact was made with a male subject who stated that an adult tricycle was stolen from the front yard of his residence.

Arrests

April 30

12:54 a.m.: Michael J. Arnhold was arrested after deputies responded to the 3000 block of Brooking Park Avenue in reference to a report of property damage. Employees stated that a male subject had thrown a walking cane through the glass door of a birdcage. Deputies arrested Arnhold at the residence and transported him to the Pettis County Jail. Arnold was placed on a 24-hour hold for second-degree property damage.

Incidents

April 29

6 a.m.: While in the area of the 2400 block of Oak Grove Lane in Sedalia deputies recovered a stolen vehicle from Lincoln, Missouri. The 2009 Saturn had not been reported stolen at the time of the call. The victim was contacted by the Benton County Sheriff's Office and the vehicle was later recovered.

April 29

4:21 p.m.: Scott A. Kaczor, 22, of Strongsville, Ohio, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance. He was processed and released.
