This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Incidents

May 10

12:33 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue for a theft report. The manager stated someone cut and stole the catalytic converters off of three work trucks behind the business. An amount of $2,500 was provided by the manager. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been identified.

1:14 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of South Harrison Avenue regarding a bike left on the side of an alleyway. The bike was recovered and placed into found property. 

8:29 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a stabbing. The victim stated he was stabbed in the arm by an unknown suspect and believed this was related to another incident that occurred on May 8.

10:16 p.m.: Officers responded to Welch Court for a disturbance. The caller reported a series of events she believed to be violating a court order she had against her neighbor. The suspect could not be contacted at that time. At approximately 11:17 p.m., the suspect contacted emergency services to respond back to Welch Court for treatment of an injury he claimed to have sustained during the previously mentioned incident. The subject was transported for treatment. The incident is still under investigation.

Arrests

May 11

4:14 a.m.: Wesley R. Dickey, of Sedalia, was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Fifth Street and Summit Avenue in Sedalia. During the stop, deputies deployed K-9 Cav to conduct a sniff of the vehicle. The Pettis County K-9 alerted to the vehicle for the presence of illegal narcotics. During the search, deputies located a small amount of white powdery substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine and a digital scale. Deputies arrested Dickey and transported him to the Pettis County Jail. At the jail, he was found to also be in possession of illegal narcotics that were brought into the jail facility.
