May 7
5:09 a.m.: Jeffrey W. Berkshire, 34, of the 3600 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop in the area of South Ohio Avenue and West 20th Street for driving with no lights on. The driver also had a suspended driver's license. Berkshire was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges.
May 10
5 p.m.: Maurice J. Byrd Jr., 29, of the 500 block of North Osage Avenue, was arrested after an officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the grass near Housel Park, 201 E. Howard St. As the officer went to make contact, two parties exited the vehicle. The passenger tossed something underneath the vehicle. The suspect was detained and a wallet with suspected methamphetamine was located. After further investigation, it was also determined the suspect had been convicted of a sexual-related offense prohibiting him from being within 500 feet of a park. Byrd was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of possession of a controlled substance and offender not to be present or loiter within 500 feet of a public park.

May 7
10:23 a.m.: Officers took a report in the SPD lobby in reference to a theft of a debit card. The complainant stated her grandmother's debit card was stolen and used to make fraudulent charges. A suspect has not been identified at this time.
May 10
7:31 p.m.: A theft was reported from an unlocked vehicle in the 1600 block of Heck Avenue that occurred overnight. Multiple items were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at the address.
9:23 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in reference to a forgery not in progress. An unknown female attempted to purchase alcohol using a counterfeit $20 bill. The suspect left in a gray Ford Expedition.
10:26 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of South Missouri Avenue regarding a case of property damage. Someone had sprayed orange spray paint on a vehicle. On further investigation, the officer found the suspect had sprayed the paint on various pieces of property on West 11th Street from South Grand Avenue to South Moniteau Avenue. There is no suspect information available at this time.
May 11
9:33 a.m.: An officer spoke to a subject by phone who wanted to report two rings either stolen or lost while at Bothwell Bothwell Regional Health Center April 25. The complainant stated while she was being brought into the emergency room a nurse took off for jewelry and placed them in a small bag. She was then transported to the University of Missouri Hospital. The rings never made it to the hospital. The police officer spoke with hospital security who are reviewing surveillance video to try to locate the items valued at $2,410. At the time of the report, the items had not been located.
9:34 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the Missouri State Fairgrounds to assist the Missouri Department of Corrections. Staff was able to intercept contraband-related items that were brought onto the fairgrounds. It is believed the subjects were attempting to conceal the items in a trash can, which would likely be accessible for inmates working on the fairgrounds. The officer recovered items and placed them into evidence.
10:46 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the SPD lobby to speak with a subject about his stepson being missing. The reporting party stated he normally speaks with his stepson about once a month. He had not heard from his stepson since February. The reporting party checked his last known address and he was not living there anymore. The missing person’s vehicle was also gone. The missing person was described as a 55-year-old white male, 5’11 and 145 pounds. At the time of the report, the missing person had not been located.
7:10 p.m.: A burglary report was taken in the 600 block of East 10th Street. The victim reported that someone forced entry into the vacant home and damaged property within. A suspect in the case has been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
9:31 p.m.: A report was taken in the police department lobby about an evolving domestic disturbance that occurred outside the city limits.
11:33 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of West Fourth Street for a report of a burglary. The complainant stated that sometime between Wednesday, May 5 and Tuesday, May 11 someone entered her residence and stole one pound of ground hamburger meat that was valued at $3.58. No one was seen entering or leaving the residence. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. There are no suspects at this time.

May 11
1:45 a.m.: Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Dove Road and E Highway in Green Ridge. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ryan C. Kruse, of Windsor. During the stop, deputies could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Deputies located green plant material along with several items of drug paraphernalia.
7 a.m.: Chief Mike Harding with the Pettis County Fire Department reported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office that someone stole the catalytic converter from a 1999 Ford F350 while parked in front of the fire station.
5:37 p.m.: A deputy was dispatched to the 28000 block of Griessen Road on a report of careless and imprudent driving. The reporting person said a white Camaro almost hit her kids while they played basketball on Griessen Road. The incident is under investigation.
May 11
3:30 p.m.: A deputy was dispatched to the 1400 block of Airport Road on a theft report. The victim stated that sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. someone cut the catalytic converter from her 2005 Honda Civic located in the 17000 block of Fristow Road.

9:25 p.m.: Daniel J. Wyman, 54, of Butler, was arrested in Benton County for felony driving while intoxicated, felony bringing an unlawful weapon into a detention facility, speeding, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was transported to the Benton County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
