This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 16

10:12 a.m.: Juvintino Brenden Martinez, 31, of the 600 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after officers responded to West Broadway Boulevard and South Osage Avenue for a report of a vehicle being driven by a possibly intoxicated male suspect. Martinez was located, confirmed to be intoxicated, arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of driving while intoxicated alcohol - prior offender, driving with a suspended driver's license, resisting arrest - misdemeanor, and careless driving. 

10:19 p.m.: Davette K. Kaulen, 55, of the 1600 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested after officers responded in reference to a physical domestic disturbance. They were able to determine a primary aggressor and Colin was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of third-degree domestic assault. 

Incidents

May 16

10:14 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the police department lobby in reference to a forgery report. The victim reported a check was forged in their name for $600 and was withdrawn from their account. 

10:16 a.m.: An officer spoke with a complainant in the Sedalia Police Department lobby regarding a theft that occurred in the 1300 block of East Ninth Street. She said a suspect known to her took off with her groceries, cell phone and purse. 

2 p.m.: A business in the 200 block of South Ohio Avenue reported that two clients failed to continue payments on items they had rented from the business. Attempts by phone to get payment were unsuccessful and the business wanted to proceed with documentation while certified letters were being sent for failure to return rental property.
