This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
5:30 p.m.: Stella R. Oetting, 30, of the 100 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested after officers were sent to the area of Second Street and Stewart Avenue in reference to a male and female fighting. Officers found the couple in the 1400 block of Liberty Park Boulevard. It was discovered the female had assaulted the male by hitting, slapping, and scratching, causing open wounds. She admitted to the assault and said the male kept his hands in the air and let her hit him. The male refused to help in prosecution, and the officers wrote the female a City summons for assault and released her on scene.
643 p.m.: Dylan James Palmer, 29, of Mount Vernon, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to West 10th Street and Thompson Boulevard in reference to a hit and run. While on scene, the officer was advised the subject had been involved in another accident on Clarendon Road. Palmer was intoxicated and he was arrested. Two individuals from the accident were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by the Pettis County Ambulance District. Palmer was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
8:08 p.m.: Billy F. Shackelford, 68, of the 21000 block of Saline Street, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 2300 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a disturbance with a weapon. Officers made contact with witnesses who stated Shackelford was yelling and advancing toward an individual while holding a knife. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for peace disturbance - first offense.
2:45 a.m.: Derrell Anthony Whitley, 37, of the 400 block of North Prospect Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 400 block of South Kentucky Avenue in reference to property damage. Officers made contact with the manager of the business and were able to secure a broken window. Hours later, Whitley came into the lobby and admitted to breaking the window. He was arrested, fingerprinted, and issued a citation for destruction of non-city property.
2:09 p.m.: Neela-Shaye J. Pratt, 18, of the 1800 block of South Beacon Avenue, was arrested after a female came into the lobby to report a female known to her had assaulted her. Pratt was charged with non-injury assault.
10:33 p.m.: Billy Bernard Brown, 35, of the 1000 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center in reference to a domestic assault. The victim said she was assaulted by Brown, who was located, arrested, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of third-degree domestic assault.
6:33 p.m.: Brian Sole Jr., 36, of Buckner, was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle failing to maintain a lane near West Broadway Boulevard and South Marvin Avenue. Sole was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released for driving while intoxicated - alcohol.
11:22 p.m.: Dustin Jarboe, 24, of Mountain Grove, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle traveling off the side of the road on West Broadway Boulevard near Thompson Boulevard. Jarboe was transported to the Sedalia Police Department for driving while intoxicated and released to a sober driver.
7:22 p.m.: Elena P. Langford, 39, of the 600 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of East 11th Street. Langford had a revoked driver's license and was arrested and released on scene with a municipal summons for driving with a revoked license.
8:28 p.m.: Derrell Anthony Whitley, 37, of the 400 block of North Prospect Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to theft. The reporting party was calling saying he was stealing from the business, which during the investigation was found to be untrue. The subject had called 911 multiple times, reporting crimes on himself, which he did not commit. Whitley was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending state charges of misuse of 911 and filing a false report.
11:32 p.m.: Jamal Ibragimov, 43, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1700 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to the intoxicated driver of a box truck. Ibragimov was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for driving while intoxicated.
11:25 a.m.: A man came to the police department lobby to report an identity theft from the 1400 block of East Fifth Street. A report was completed.
9:47 a.m.: An officer spoke with a victim from the 1600 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to forgery. The victim said someone had attempted to open an account with a credit union located in Irving, Texas, using her information. The victim was able to put a stop to the process before the account was opened. At the time of the report, the suspect had not been identified.
10:59 a.m.: A male subject came into the police department lobby to report his firearm had been stolen in the 900 block of Winchester Drive. A report was completed.
3:38 p.m.: Officers met with a victim of theft in the 900 block of South Carr Avenue. She stated her checking account was hacked and around $6,000 was stolen.
7:04 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Park Avenue in reference to a theft report. The reporting party stated her bicycle was stolen from her garage. No suspects have been identified.
5:42 p.m.: An officer took a report of theft in the police station lobby from the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The caller said someone was able to get his debit card number and used it multiple times, costing him around $530.
6:56 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2200 block of West First Street in reference to an animal attack. The reporting party stated her dog was attacked by another dog while they were walking down the street. The dogs were separated with no injuries. The report has been forwarded to Animal Control.
8:42 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a suicidal person in the 1700 block of South Lamine Avenue. She assaulted two officers, resisted arrest, and was transported to Bothwell for a mental health evaluation. The woman was released to the hospital's care, and no charges are being requested.
9:00 p.m.: Officers responded to the a business in the 3900 block of West Ninth Street in reference to a hit-and-run accident. Officers made contact with the reporting party, who stated his vehicle was struck in the parking lot the previous evening. No suspects have been identified.
7:14 a.m.: An officer responded to East 13th Street and South Ohio Avenue in reference to a hit-and-run accident. A witness recounted an SUV had struck a parked vehicle on 13th Street before fleeing north on South Ohio Avenue. A description was given of the suspect vehicle, but it has yet to be located.
11:24 a.m.: An officer responded to Centennial Park, 1500 S. New York Ave., in reference to property damage. A Parks and Rec employee showed that the retractable windows of the concession stand had been damaged in an apparent attempt to burglarize the building. No suspect has been identified.
2:31 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to property damage. A victim said someone damaged his vehicle while it was parked in the lot. A suspect has not been identified.
8:54 p.m.: An officer took a call from an individual who said they were harassed and threatened over Facebook. No arrests have been made.
12:31 a.m.: Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed north on U.S. Highway 65 near Country Club Boulevard. The vehicle failed to stop for deputies and a pursuit ensued at high rates of speed south out of Sedalia city limits. The vehicle then began to travel north on U.S. Highway 65 and even drove off the road for a brief period of time before returning to U.S. 65. Deputies opted to terminate the pursuit for the safety of the public. A suspect has been identified and charges are pending.
1233 a.m.: Charles D. Gonzalez, 43, of Macks Creek, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail for a 12-hour hold.
9:28 p.m.: Nathan K. Yeager, 41, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving while intoxicated - aggravated offender, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, failure to stop for a stop sign, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, no insurance, and failure to properly affix his license plate. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
11:30 p.m.: Lonnie L. Montley, 18, of Independence, was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving while intoxicated, speeding, no valid driver's license, and felony endangering the welfare of a child. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
12:25 a.m.: John Jay Regan, 35, of Centerview, was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving while intoxicated - persistent offender, lane violations, and driving with a suspended license - third or fourth offense. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
10:55 p.m.: Bradley C. George, 20, of Chilhowee, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway causing an accident. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
