This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 19

8 p.m.: Domingo Caal, 25, of the 800 block of South Grand Avenue, was issued a summons after officers were dispatched to the scene of an accident at West Broadway Boulevard and South State Fair Boulevard. An eastbound minivan had collided with a northbound car and the driver of the minivan left the scene. The car sustained minor damages and was able to be driven from the scene. The suspect was later identified as Caal, who was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident. 

Incidents

May 23

7:25 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 2600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a burglary report. The business owner stated entry was forced into the mechanical room and $10,000 in damage was done to the building. At the time of the report, a suspect had not been located. 

8:34 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the Missouri State Fairgrounds for a report of property damage. Reporting party stated that sometime between Friday and Monday morning, someone vandalized the grandstand concession area, causing an estimated $3,000 worth of damage. It was later discovered that several juveniles caused the damage. Two juveniles were identified and their parents were notified. The other juveniles have not been located. Juvenile referrals will be sent to the juvenile office for further investigation. 

May 24

6:29 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of South Grand Avenue involving a knife. Information was given that a juvenile had pulled a knife on a family member. The juvenile was disarmed prior to the officer's arrival and it was determined they had multiple mental health issues. Pettis County Ambulance District responded to the scene and transported the juvenile to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a mental health evaluation. No charges are being sought.
