This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 26

4:24 p.m.: Steven Paul Davidson, 65, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to Liberty Park for a report of an adult saying inappropriate things to kids who were playing in the park. The officer made contact with the intoxicated suspect and trespassed him from all the city parks. The same officer made contact with the same subject inside Centennial Park and placed the subject under arrest for trespassing and placed him on a 12-hour protective custody hold.

May 27

4:29 a.m.: Charlotte E. Vinson, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West Ninth Street and South Prospect Avenue for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle was in possession of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe. 

Incidents

May 26

2:01 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of West Morgan Street for a report of a hit-and-run accident. Contact was made with the female subject who reported her car was parked on the side of the road and was struck by another vehicle that fled from the scene.

May 27

9:46 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a theft report on the 1600 block of South Carr Avenue. The victim said his 15-year-old son transferred $250 from his personal bank account to a joint account and used the money to purchase concert tickets.

9:48 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of property damage. The caller was an employee of Redbox and stated the Redbox screen was damaged sometime between May 22 and May 27. The estimated damage was $750.

10:29 a.m.: A victim stated that his Ford F-450 was in the Katy Motors parking lot when it was taken without his permission. Video of the incident showed it was taken at 5:30 a.m. May 13. It was later found in Kansas City where it was towed to the City lot. 

10:39 a.m.: Police took a report of an assault that took place in the area of East 13th Street and South Lamine Avenue. The victim stated that a known suspect hit him several times with a metal pipe. The victim had extensive injuries and had been in the hospital for the past few days. 

2:41 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a forgery. The manager said that at approximately 12:23 a.m. May 25 a subject came into the store and paid using a forged $50 bill.

2:53 p.m.: Officers made contact with a male subject who had found suspected narcotics in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. The suspected narcotics were seized for destruction. 

3:54 p.m.: An officer received a theft report from a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Asset protection employees discovered that on May 25 a subject came into the store and stole a pack of shirts and a pair of jeans. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.

8:54 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of South Washington Avenue in reference to property damage. The caller said she heard a bang, then saw a female who she knew to be a friend of the victim trying to get into the victim's apartment. The caller said she spoke with the suspect, who admitted to breaking a window in front of the apartment. The victim was contacted and confirmed that the suspect was not to be there. A ticket was issued for property damage.

9:35 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. The caller said a male had stolen a package of beef jerky before leaving the area.
