This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Incidents

Nov. 9

11:30 a.m.: An officer responded to the Salvation Army at 1200 E. Broadway Blvd. where an employee stated catalytic converters were cut off two vehicles belonging to the Salvation Army in its parking lot. The damage to the vehicles was valued at $600.

Nov. 10

2:34 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1800 block of Eagle View Drive for a report of a theft. A subject reported catalytic converters were stolen from some vehicles in the parking lot. 

6:34 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 2900 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. An employee reported a female came in and tried on a pair of shoes. A male then entered the store and when the female took off their shoes, hid the shoes under his coat and left the store in an unknown direction.

6:47 p.m.: An officer performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3000 block of South Kentucky Avenue for improper registration and failure to signal. The license plate was found to not belong to the owner of the vehicle and was seized to be turned into the Department of Revenue.

Nov. 11

12:02 p.m.: A subject reported over the phone that their Carry-On flatbed trailer was stolen from the 1600 block of Honeysuckle Road on Nov. 9.

Incidents

Nov. 10

5 p.m.: Two subjects reported they had been victims of attempted identity theft via an internet scam. Due to their quick action, no financial loss was incurred. A report was made for identity theft.

Arrests

Nov. 11

12:25 p.m.: Harley W. Branscomb, 19, of Jacksonville, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash.

8:42 p.m.: Rodney J. Crockett, 32, of Kansas City, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.

9:25 p.m.: Larry L. Knowles, 50, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County for a felony Benton County warrant, a felony probation and parole warrant, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

9:33 p.m.: Raina D. Jackson, 43, of Kansas City, was arrested in Benton County for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
