This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 10

5:58 p.m.: Diana S. Smith, 48, of the 400 block of East 27th Street, was arrested after a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into thefts from motor vehicles. During the course of the search warrant, several items associated with illegal drug activity were found and seized.

Smith was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a failure to appear warrant.

Also arrested was Nathan Paul McMillin II, 25, of the same address. He was charged with distribution of a controlled substance near a school, distribution of marijuana near a school, felony drug possession - marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia possession, and a failure to appear warrant. Both adults were arrested without incident and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges.

Nov. 13

2:57 p.m.: Crystal Gayle Johnson, 44, of the 1000 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after a vehicle stop for two traffic violations on the 100 block of East Broadway Boulevard. Johnson was charged with driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance, and a failure to appear warrant. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail. 

Nov. 17

12:51 a.m.: Natalie N. Green, 27, of the 2400 block of Greenwood Lane, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a disturbance. It was determined Green was the primary physical aggressor so she was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, placed on a 24-hour hold, and charged with fourth-degree domestic assault.

Incidents

Nov. 11

10 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of East Fourth Street for a report of theft. The caller stated a woman known to him had his bank card and had since blocked him and prevented him from getting the card back.

Nov. 15

9:32 a.m.: A male subject came to the police department to report a theft in the 600 block of East 17th Street. The subject reported that sometime in the past few days someone stole several items from his vehicle, which was parked in the alley behind his house.

11:13 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of North Quincy Avenue in reference to a theft report. The victim stated that sometime overnight someone stole a cell phone out of his vehicle.

Nov. 16

9:21 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1700 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a hit-and-run accident. Management said someone in a U-Haul van had struck their building while in the drive-thru causing damage. The case remains under investigation and the suspect has not been identified.

11:10 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a burglary that occurred in the 1300 block of West 11th Street. The house was burglarized between 5 p.m. Nov. 5 and 7:50 a.m. Nov. 16.

11:57 a.m.: An officer responded to the 200 block of South Engineer Avenue for a property damage report. The victim wished to pursue charges.

12:27 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of South Grand Avenue in reference to a theft report. The victim said she lost her phone with her debit card linked to it. She said later in the day money was taken from her account.

1:16 p.m.: A victim came to the police department lobby for a property damage report. The victim said the damage occurred near the 200 block of South Engineer Avenue. He wished to pursue charges

8:18 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of South Ingram Avenue in reference to two runaways. Staff stated two juveniles had left out the front door. They were entered into the system as missing. 

9:19 p.m.: Officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center in reference to a controlled substance found on a patient. The subject was admitted due to health issues, was identified, and the controlled substance was collected. State charges are being requested.
