This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 18

7:17 p.m.: Cora L. Hathaway, 27, of the 19000 block of Whitfield Road, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 1500 block of Thompson Boulevard for a report of an employee using marijuana in the parking lot. Contact was made with Hathaway, who was found to have two active warrants for her arrest. The employee was arrested for the warrants and possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail. 

9:38 p.m.: Russell Dean Shaw, 53, of the 1400 block of Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after officers were dispatched to Southwest Boulevard Court in reference to an intoxicated driver. Shaw was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center ER for a blood draw and then placed on a 12-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending charges of driving while intoxicated – prior offender and resisting arrest. 

Nov. 20

2:38 a.m.: Caleb Paul Bartlett, 26, of the 1800 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to the 3800 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a motor vehicle accident. Bartlett had a revoked driving status and was transported to the police department and issued a municipal citation for driving without a license.

2:47 a.m.: Brett Graham, 20, of the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard, was arrested after a traffic accident at West Broadway Boulevard and South Quincy Avenue involving a passenger car and a motorcycle. It was determined Graham was intoxicated and he was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed him above the legal limit for alcohol. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of felony driving while intoxicated. 

Incidents

Nov. 18

5:52 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue for a reported hit-and-run accident. Information was collected for an accident report. One of the drivers involved left the scene of the accident. The suspect is unknown at this time. 

Nov. 19

10:08 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 2400 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to property damage. Someone had spray-painted lewd and offensive images and words on the back of the building. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified. 

9:41 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Sixth Street for a report of a dog bite. The resident had a significant injury to his face and left for the hospital. The animal was quarantined. 

Nov. 20

10:40 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 800 block of  South Limit Avenue for a reported assault. The victim was home but going to Bothwell Regional Health Center, where he met officers, who took a report. The suspects are known but have not been located.

Arrests

Nov. 18

7:56 p.m.: Shane M. Wilson, 25, of Flemington, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.

Nov. 19

12:58 a.m.: John E Hardegan, 64, of Knob Noster, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

10:29 p.m.: Phillip W Gugler, 37, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated – alcohol, careless and imprudent driving, and no valid driver's license. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail. 

11:33 p.m.: Jayden T. Lawson-Cheese, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, no seat belt, and no insurance. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
