This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Oct. 10

3:47 p.m.: Gene K. Robinson, 60, of the 1600 block of Honda Road, was issued a summons after a vehicle stop in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Sneed Avenue for a moving violation. A check showed his driving privilege had been revoked and he was issued a summons for driving without a license.

Oct. 13 

7:52 a.m.: Randee Powell, 31, of Grandview, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of West Second Street for a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed the suspect struck the victim with a handgun and prevented her from fleeing the home. The suspect was taken into custody and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges of second-degree domestic domestic assault, armed criminal action, kidnapping, tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution, and refusal to identify as a witness.

8:40 a.m.: Andrew J. Shaw, 37, of the 400 block of North Park Avenue, was arrested after he was observed traveling 51 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone in the 1200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. A traffic stop revealed he had a suspended license and warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of exceeding the posted speed limit, no proof of insurance, failure to pay child support, and the failure to appear warrant. 


Oct. 8

8:17 a.m.: An officer spoke with a caller who wished to report that their identification was compromised while they were at their home at 2600 block of Clarendon Road. There are no suspects at this time. 

Oct. 13

12:43 p.m.: An officer initiated a traffic stop on a car near South Gentry Avenue and West Main Street with expired registration. A search found marijuana and paraphernalia which was seized for destruction.

9:05 p.m.: Officers responded to the 500 block of West Sixth Street in reference to a theft. The victim stated she sold items on Facebook and has not received payment. A suspect has been identified.
