This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 4

7:38 a.m.: Wayne Michael Looney, 36, of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Broadway Boulevard and Granny Lane for no driver's side mirror or inside rearview mirror, and the registered owner was driving with a revoked license. Looney was arrested, taken to the police department, and released with a City ticket for driving with a revoked license. 

12:08 p.m.: Kristin L. Hensley, 28, of the 500 block of South New York Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Broadway Boulevard and South Beacon Avenue. The driver's license was suspended and she was issued a citation and released.

1:44 p.m.: Michael L.Taylor, 50, of the 400 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Ward Avenue. The driver's license was revoked and he had two active warrants from Pettis County for driving with a suspended license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. 

6:40 p.m.: Charles Edward Moore, 66, of Old Balltown Road, was arrested after officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center in reference to trespassing. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a patient was being uncooperative and refusing to leave. The suspect was arrested and issued municipal citations for trespassing and resisting arrest.

Incidents

Sept. 30

10:50 p.m.: Officers took a report in the SPD lobby in reference to harassment. The victim stated she was being harassed via messages and being followed. A suspect has been identified but no contact has been made at this point.

Oct. 1

1:22 p.m.:  The Sedalia Police Department discovered that an individual tampered with physical evidence during an active investigation back in September of this year. Charges against the suspect have been requested with the Pettis County Prosecutor's office.

Arrests

Oct. 2

Simon L. Smith, 33, of Raytown, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a firearm, and driving with a suspended license - second offense. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
