This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 2

12:31 a.m.: Brady D. Franklin, 26, of La Monte, was arrested after a traffic stop at West 16th Street and South State Fair Boulevard for failing to maintain a lane, making a wide turn, and trying to pull into a parking lot with no entrance. Franklin was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, charged with driving while intoxicated and released to a sober driver.

Oct. 3

6:42 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard in reference to a vehicle theft. The victim said someone stole his Honda Ruckus scooter valued at $3,000. 

7:46 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2100 block of West Main Street for a report of a stolen vehicle and trailer. The vehicle was entered as stolen. 

9:14 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard in reference to a vehicle break-in. The victim said overnight, someone broke into their vehicle and stole a bag containing $1,500 in items. The vehicle was also damaged. 

1:13 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive in reference to a stolen vehicle. Security video showed suspects stealing a motorcycle in the early hours of Sept. 3.

8:39 p.m.: Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle near a parking lot in the 3600 block of South Limit Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop and the pursuit was terminated. The suspect is unknown. 

10:45 p.m.: Officers responded to a physical domestic disturbance in the 300 block of East Fourth Street. They made contact with the caller, who stated a juvenile known to her pushed her during an argument. She had a minor injury, but medical treatment was not requested. The juvenile was entered as a runaway as he left the scene before officers’ arrival. A referral for third-degree domestic assault and second-degree property damage will be sent to the Pettis County Juvenile Office. 

Oct. 4

1:19 a.m.: An officer responded to the SPD lobby to speak with a subject about a domestic violence situation. They did not feel safe at home with their partner and wanted to leave. Arrangements were made for the subject and a general information report was completed to document the incident.

Incidents

Oct. 3

9:59 a.m.: Deputies took a report of a stolen 2006 Ford F350 parked at a business in the 1400 block of 32nd Street in Sedalia.

6:20 p.m.: A deputy was dispatched to the 23000 block of Highway O on a report of property damage. Contact was made with the reporting person, who stated someone broke the rear window of her 2007 Dodge Caliber and the driver’s door window on a 1969 Volkswagen.

Arrests

Sept. 30

11:23 p.m.: Alisha J. Thorell, 34, of Tecumseh, Nebraska, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. She was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
