This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 31

4:45 a.m.: Rosalio Cervantes Galvan, 49, of the 400 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop at South Missouri Avenue and West 15th Street for driving on the wrong side of the road. A check revealed the driver did not have a driver's license. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending State charges of felony driving without a valid license.

Aug. 30

7:36 p.m.: Officers at the SPD took a report of harassment. The caller stated she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend. After completing an investigation charges are being sought.

7:50 p.m.: Officers responded to the 300 block of McAnally Court for a report of a violation of a court order. The victim reported being assaulted and her phone taken from her and damaged by a subject known to her. The victim had an active order of protection against the suspect. The suspect was not located and charges of fourth-degree domestic assault, violation of a court order and second-degree property damage are being requested through the prosecutor's office.

Incidents

Aug. 30

11:44 a.m.: Deputies took a report of stealing in the 2700 block of Highway TT in Sedalia. The complainant stated someone had stolen $180 from a coin bank and wallet. There are no suspects at this time.

2:33 p.m.: Tait N. Torset, 19, from Kansas City, Kansas, was arrested in Saline County for unlawful use of a weapon and released.
