This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 8

8:21 p.m.: Oscar Diaz Padilla Jr., 23, of the 800 block of East 14th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near East 13th Street and South Ingram Avenue for failing to stop past the stop line, having a rear plate that was not fixed as to not swing, and an investigative stop for the registered owner having a suspended license. He was arrested, transported to the SPD, a hospital, and then the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated -  drugs, and driving with a suspended license.

Sept. 9

1:40 p.m.: Shannon R. Spruell, 39, of the 200 block of West Sixth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near East Broadway Boulevard and South Mildred Avenue. She was driving with a suspended license. Spruell was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of driving with a suspended license. 

2:21 p.m.: Michele A. Davenport, 54, of the 100 block of West Cooper Street, was arrested after officers responded to a disturbance. Contact was made with the victim who stated someone known to him threw five eggs at him and one of the eggs struck him in the back. Contact was made with the suspect who claimed no knowledge of the incident. Egg yolk was located on the front door and on the victim's back. Davenport was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of domestic assault. 

7:42 p.m.: Chrissy A. Donaldson, 39, of the 900 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle with defective taillights near East 16th Street and South Washington Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver had a suspended California driver's license and was arrested, transported to the SPD, and released.

Incidents

Sept. 7

8 a.m.: The Pettis County Children's Division notified the SPD of a possible sexual assault involving a juvenile that occurred at an unknown location in the city of Sedalia. The investigation is ongoing. 

Sept. 8

11:06 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 2400 block of Clinton Road in reference to a theft. The catalytic converter had been removed from a vehicle belonging to the business. The value is estimated at approximately $900. No suspects have been identified.

Sept. 9

9:41 a.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby for a sexual assault report involving a juvenile. At the time of the report, this suspect is known and the incident is under investigation.

11:17 a.m.: Officers took a report in the SPD lobby in reference to a hit-and-run accident that occurred near West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue. The reporting party had damage to his vehicle but no reported injuries. The other vehicle involved has not been located.

12:33 p.m.: The SPD was dispatched to a theft of a vehicle from the 3700 block of West 10th Street. The victim stated that when he went inside the business someone stole his vehicle and left.

7:26 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 2400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a hit-and-run. The victim stated someone had struck his vehicle while it was parked and unoccupied.

8:04 p.m.: Officers were made aware of a female victim who was given alcohol while she was underage by a male who is of legal age to possess alcohol. The victim stated that the male also took photographs of her asleep in her underwear without her consent.
