This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept.13

6:38 a.m.: Salvador S. Cruz, 40, of the 200 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for speeding in the 3200 block of South Limit Avenue. The driver had no driver's license, was arrested, transported to the SPD, and issued citations for no operator’s status and speeding.

4:10 a.m.: Robert L. Miller, 37, of the 1500 block of East Seventh Street, was arrested after officers initiated a check on a female who appeared to be in distress at Casey's, 1601 E. Broadway Blvd. The female said she had been involved in a domestic dispute where a knife had been used. Officers contacted the suspect and arrested him. Miller was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges for first-degree domestic assault. 

4:57 p.m.: Hunley G. Fred, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 3201 W. Broadway Blvd., or a subject intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Fred was placed under arrest, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold. 

Sept. 14

2:46 a.m.: Jesus Ubaldo Quetzecua, 25, of the 1100 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for no front plate and no plate lights near East 12th Street and South Engineer Avenue. It was determined that the driver had a suspended license and he had two failure to appear warrants from Sedalia with a total bond of $160. Quetzecua was also found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked on the warrants, and issued municipal citations. 

Incidents

Sept. 8

2:51 p.m.: A victim reported he was assaulted by a man known to him near Margaret Avenue and Sue Lane. During the incident, the suspect also damaged the vehicle that the victim was in.

Sept. 9

2:02 p.m.: The SPD took a theft report from a business in the 800 block of Thompson Boulevard. The complainant stated a suspect stole an item of clothing from the store.

Sept. 13

8:59 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a vehicle theft. The complainant reported the theft of a white Ford F-250 over the weekend. 

10:53 a.m.: Officers took a report of property damage that occurred in the 1400 block of South Ohio Avenue. A vehicle parked in the area was scratched down the side from another vehicle. The value of the damage was estimated at $700. No suspects have been identified.

5:45 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in reference to a theft report. A man concealed an air nailer in his jeans and left without paying for it.
