This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 15

8:38 p.m.: Shaun C. Webb, 52, of the 2000 block of West 14th Street, was arrested after officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a hit-and-run accident. The victim said another vehicle backed into hers and left the scene without exchanging information. Officers were able to identify the other vehicle and Webb was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Sept. 19

11 p.m.: Julie Marie Dickinson, 44, and Mark Adrian Green, 42, both of Columbia, were arrested after a traffic stop near West 32nd Street and South Grand Avenue. A probable cause search was conducted and found a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The driver and passenger were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where they were placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sept. 9

11:12 a.m.: Officers took a report in reference to a theft that occurred in the 100 block of West Sixth Street. The reporting party stated she gave a woman a ride home and while she was out of the car, the woman stole money from her wallet. The money has not been recovered. 

Sept. 15

3:56 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of North Prospect Avenue for an assistant agency call regarding a sex crime. An employee from DFS spoke with a juvenile on scene about a possible incident that happened three years ago. It was decided the juvenile should speak with Child Safe of Central Missouri for a further interview. 

Sept. 19

9:47 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the SPD lobby in reference to a theft report in the 1600 block of West Fourth Street. The victim stated he received a fraud alert from his credit card company and several purchases were made online. 

10:31 a.m.: Officers took a report in the SPD lobby in reference to a theft in the 1800 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The reporting party stated her juvenile son stole money from her purse overnight. The money was recovered by the school.

10:34 a.m.: An officer responded to the 400 block of South Ohio Avenue in reference to a theft. The victim stated they had fallen prey to an internet scam and thieves were able to compromise their checking account and steal money. A suspect has not been identified. 

1:47 p.m.: Officers took a report in the SPD lobby in reference to fraud. The reporting party stated a house was online for rent and she paid to hold it, but upon arrival, the owner of the home informed her it was a scam. No suspects have been identified.

Sept. 19

9:26 a.m.: Deputies took a report of the fraudulent use of a credit card in the 18000 block of Arnett Road in Pettis County. The investigation continues.
