This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 26

9:09 a.m.: Kaylea M. Markel, 28, of the 800 block of West Sixth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue. A check showed her driving privileges to be revoked and she was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where charges of driving with a suspended license were requested.

10:16 p.m.: Monica M. Herrera, 31, of the 300 block of East Saline Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near North Ohio Avenue and North Missouri Avenue for failure to maintain a lane. Herrera provided a false name but was identified and placed under arrest. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of operating a motor vehicle on a highway without a valid driver's license, identity theft, and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Sept. 27

12:31 a.m.: Marila Tikhonova, 19, of the 1700 block of West Beacon Street, was arrested after an SUV was stopped in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue for having a passenger-side headlight out and failure to maintain a lane. The driver was intoxicated by drugs and was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated – drugs.

Incidents

Sept. 23

7:23 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2800 block of South Stewart Avenue for a reported runaway. The juvenile was entered as missing.

Sept. 25

7:10 p.m.: An officer began investigating allegations of physical abuse of a child in the 300 block of East Chestnut Street. The investigation is ongoing.

Sept. 26

6:52 a.m.: An officer spoke with a woman about her juvenile son who ran away from home in the 1200 block of Deseret Drive overnight. The next morning the officer was informed by the high school resource officer that the juvenile arrived at school and the mother was contacted.

10:01 p.m.: Officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a past stabbing that occurred near 16th Street and Grand Avenue. Officers gathered information and documented what occurred. There is no suspect information.

10:02 p.m.: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to register. The driver admitted to having drugs in the vehicle and produced them. A probable cause to search found nothing further. The drugs were confiscated for destruction and no charges are being requested.
