“What is your life?” writes James, the half-brother of Jesus. “For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes” (James 4:14). The Psalmist declares our life is “like smoke” (Ps 102:3). As I look around at the world and all those hurrying here and there, I ask myself, “what is the rush?”
