Sedalia Democrat to host job fair

Posted

The Sedalia Democrat, the Missouri Job Center and Equus Workforce Solutions have teamed up to host a job fair to aid in the hiring process for both employers and job seekers.

The job fair will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 14 in the MO-Ag Theatre on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia.

“This is a perfect spot for you to meet and greet employers who may be looking for you,” Democrat Advertising Manager Julie White said. “Bring your resume and dress to impress.  Remember: you never get a second chance to make a first impression.”

Job seekers can sit down with more than 30 area businesses to discuss job opportunities, qualifications, how to apply, set interviews, and/or be hired on the spot. With a wide variety of employers from across west central Missouri, the job fair isn’t limited to Pettis County residents. Anyone in the area looking for a career change or trying to relocate is encouraged to attend.

“With this job fair, job-seekers can expect to be able to sit down with potential employers and discuss the ins and outs of working there,” White said. “Who knows, maybe you will find a business at this job fair that you wouldn’t have considered before, a place that you can build your career.”

Seminars will be offered at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on how to interview, how to build an effective resume and how to take advantage of the free services offered by the Missouri Job Center.

There will also be door prizes.

This Employment Resource Guide, which is being published in the Plainsman and Star-Advertiser on July 7, Warrensburg Star-Journal on July 9 and the Sedalia Democrat on July 10, features articles about resources, trends and best practices to obtain the job you are searching for, plus notes pages to use while attending the job fair.
