According to Sedalia Fire Department Fire Chief Greg Harrell, the Sedalia Fire Department will not be issuing any burn permits until further notice due to the dry weather combined with high winds. The city will also be issuing citations for calls to open burning due to the conditions.
The department asks people with burn permits not to use them until conditions improve, especially high winds. Individuals are also reminded if damages occur from a fire on their property, they are responsible for those damages.
