While this week has been sunny and relatively warm for January in Missouri, snow is in the weekend forecast.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will continue to be in the low 50s and 40s Thursday and Friday with lows in the high 20s. On Friday, there is a 20% chance of rain after noon with wind gusts as high as 18 mph. Friday night, rain and snow are expected between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., followed by snow after 1 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 90% and snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.
On Saturday, snow is again likely, with a 70% chance of precipitation before noon. It will be mostly cloudy with a high near 33 and a low around 14.
No precipitation is expected from Sunday through mid-week. Temperatures will remain low for a few days though, with Sunday’s high near 31 and low around 22. Monday and Tuesday will warm up with highs in the 40s and 50s and lows in the mid-20s.
