Suicide, murder, morbid curiosity: Sedalia in 1890

On June 3, 1895, the Sedalia Weekly Bazoo reported on a series of events that had been reported in the previous week’s daily papers. They involved an attempted suicide, three disappearances, three murders, accusations of lying, two coroner’s inquests, another disappearance, multiple investigations, numerous interviews by Bazoo reporters, and a revelation of the morbid curiosity displayed by Sedalia residents.
