Thursday morning search warrant finds guns, drugs

A Sedalia man was arrested Thursday morning and has been charged with multiple drug offenses.

According to a Sedalia Police Department news release, Elijah A. Nash, 26, of the 300 block of West Fifth Street, was arrested at 6 a.m. Thursday at his residence after a warrant was served related to an ongoing drug investigation. Sedalia police officers with the Crime Resolution Unit and the Special Response Team took Nash into custody without incident.

A subsequent search of the property discovered a significant amount of cocaine, a loaded .223 caliber rifle, a loaded 40 caliber handgun, drugs including ecstasy, methamphetamine, marijuana, and additional evidence indicating drugs were being distributed from the home. 

Nash was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

He has since been charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. Nash was issued an $80,000 bond, cash or surety.
