Winter Weather Advisory issued for Pettis County

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Pettis County until noon Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, accumulating snow is expected overnight into early Wednesday morning. Total snow accumulations could be up to 2 inches.

The storm is expected to affect portions of central, north central, northeast and west central Missouri. The advisory has been issued for Howard, Adair, Henry, Mercer, Cooper, Grundy, Pettis, Harrison and Sullivan counties.

Residents should plan for slippery road conditions that could impact the morning commute. Drivers should give themselves extra time to drive safely.

In Sedalia, the National Weather Service states snow is likely mainly after 3 a.m. Wednesday with a 70% chance of precipitation. Temperatures are expected around 24 with a slight wind. There is a 40% chance of snow before noon Wednesday. The high is expected near 30 with a low around 17 Wednesday night.

The forecast for the rest of the week is sunny and partly cloudy with warmer temperatures. On Thursday, the high is near 40 with a low around 29. On Friday, the high is near 50 with a low around 38.

Rain is in the forecast this weekend with a 90% chance of rain Saturday. Temperatures will remain warm on Saturday with a high near 51 and a low around 35.
