CITY OF SEDALIA, MISSOURI
SMALL SANITARY SEWER
PROJECT "A" -
SEWER INSTALLATION

1. Sealed Proposals for completion of SMALL SANITARY SEWER PROJECT "A" – SEWER INSTALLATION for the City of Sedalia, Missouri will be received at the Sedalia City Hall, 200 S. Osage Ave., Sedalia, MO, 65301, until 2:00 PM local time, May 30, 2024, and as soon as possible thereafter shall be publicly opened and read aloud. All Bidders are required to submit their proposal on the forms provided and the entire Project Manual must be bound and submitted. Sealed envelopes enclosing bids shall be endorsed "SMALL SANITARY SEWER PROJECT A - SEWER INSTALLATION". Three (3) originals of all signed documents and forms shall be included with the submission. Bidders are encouraged to be present for the bid opening.
2. Drawings and Specifications for the contract may be inspected at the Public Works Department, Sedalia City Hall, 200 S. Osage Ave.
Complete digital project bidding documents are available for a non-refundable fee of $20.00 and can be obtained from Elizabeth Nations via email at enations@sedalia.com. Include a copy of your check in the email.
All questions regarding the project shall be submitted in writing to Elizabeth Nations at enations@sedalia.com. Questions will not be accepted after end of business day May 22, 2024 and responses shall be issued by end of business day May 24, 2024.
3. The project consists of the following work:
A Unit Price contract for construction of approximately 465 LF of 8" SDR35 PVC sanitary sewer main. The work also includes boring approximately 113 LF under Union Pacific Railroad and a stream crossing. Three new manholes will be installed with the project.
4. A NON-MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at 1:00 PM, May 21, 2024 at the Sedalia City Hall, 200 S. Osage Ave., Sedalia, MO. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is not required in order to bid the project.
5. The Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check made payable to City of Sedalia, Missouri, or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid.
6. A performance bond and a payment bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, with a surety approved by the Owner and Engineer, will be required for the faithful performance of the Contract.
7. There is no DBE goal for this project.
8. There is a 10% minority participation and 6.9% female participation goal in each trade for this project.
9. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the best bid whether it is or is not the lowest bid and to waive irregularities.
10. Notice is hereby given that the Contractor doing the work must pay for labor at prevailing wage rates not less than those certified pursuant to Section 290.210 through 290.340 and 290.550 through 290.580, RSMo, as amended by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as indicated by the schedule attached to the Bidding Documents.
11. Notice is hereby given that the Contractor and all subcontractors to the contract must require all on-site employees to complete the ten-hour construction safety training program required under Section 292.675, RSMo, unless they have previously completed the program and have documentation of having done so.
12. Notice is hereby given that the Contractor and all subcontractors to the contract must comply with RSMo 285.530 in relation to employment of unauthorized aliens to perform work within the State of Missouri.
