Evelyn J. “Rice” Hicks, of Sedalia, will celebrate her 80th birthday with a card shower.
She was born April 11, 1943, to Jay and Marjorie Rice.
Evelyn was married for 42 years to the late Jimmie A. Hicks.
She retired from the banking industry after 40 years and worked at Union Savings Bank and Third National Bank and was vice president of the booking keeping department for Central Bank. She also served as the treasurer for the Trails End Project, now hosted at the Trails End Plaza on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, and is a member of three saddle clubs, serving as treasurer for more than 30 years.
Evelyn enjoys maintaining her farm, being a supportive neighbor and caring for her horse, Sweety, her three cats, Soxie, TC and Callie, and her dog, Buddy. Her hobbies include trail riding, camping, working in her wood shop, and mowing her lawn and pastures.
Evelyn has several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
