This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 3

10:48 a.m.: Brandon L. Paxton, 31, of the 32000 block of Van Dyke Road, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft report. Contact was made with a shoplifting suspect who had previously been given a no-trespass warning from the store. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released for burglary, stealing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

1:18 p.m.: Timothy R. Hurr, 39, of the 2100 block of South Ingram Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a shoplifting report. Hurr had concealed multiple items while at the checkpoint and was apprehended by asset protection. He was released on scene with a summons for shoplifting.

5:28 p.m.: Breanna L. James, 19, of the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for shoplifting. The suspect was arrested and released on scene with a summons for theft. The business also wished to have James trespassed from the location.

7:25 p.m.: Henry Kane Hatfield, 57, of the 1900 block of East Ninth Street, and Joshua DeWayne Butterfield, 39, of the 900 block of South Summit Avenue, were arrested after officers were dispatched to South Summit Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Officers spoke with both parties and found they engaged in mutual combat. They were each issued a summons for private peace disturbance.

7:49 p.m.: Ronald K. Green, 61, of the 2500 block of Greenwood Lane, was arrested after a report of domestic assault was taken in the SPD lobby. The victim reported being assaulted by Green and had minor injuries that were not treated. Green was located in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard and transported to the Pettis County Jail. He was placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of third-degree domestic assault.

9:52 p.m.: Cassandra Louise Eckhoff, 31, of Cole Camp, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft. Eckoff was stopped by employees after being observed stealing an item estimated at approximately $4.16. Eckoff was released with a citation.

May 4

5:19 a.m.: Randall A. Dotson, 42, of the 1300 block of East 22nd Street, was arrested after officers responded to the 500 block of East 13th Street for what was initially reported as a hit-and-run accident of a car versus a building. Officers were able to identify the suspect and determine that the damage was intentional. Dotson was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of first-degree property damage.

4:02 p.m.: Blake A. Banner, 25, of the 1000 block of South Murray Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to shoplifting. A man had left the store with a concealed wristwatch he removed from the package. Banner was later identified, arrested, and released with a summons for shoplifting. He was also trespassed per the business’ request.

7:15 p.m.: Jasei Dotson, 18, of the 1300 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to theft in progress. They made contact with the suspect outside the business and asset protection gave information for the items stolen. Dotson was released on a scene with a summons for shoplifting and destruction of property.

11:08 a.m.: Drake L. Ballew, 19, of the 1200 block of West 11th Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Three subjects ran from the store when confronted and were located nearby. One subject was in possession of drugs and paraphernalia and was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and stealing.

8:12 p.m.: Tatiana L. Monroy, 24, of the 1200 block of Elm Hills Boulevard, was arrested after a vehicle stop in the 2400 block of South Limit Avenue. Officers identified the driver and ran her information through dispatch and she was found to have a suspended license. Monroy was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

10 p.m.: Chase A. Agnew, 38, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 200 block of South Ohio Avenue in reference to a physical disturbance. Officers encountered multiple subjects intoxicated and having an altercation. No one wanted to pursue charges, but one subject was highly intoxicated and began yelling and causing a disturbance. After being told multiple times to stop yelling, Agnew was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold pending a state charge of peace disturbance.

May 5

10:04 p.m.: Braidn Fillmore Ford, 25, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was arrested after officers responded to the 200 block of South Ohio Avenue for a domestic disturbance. They made contact with the victim, who said a man known to her forcibly stole her phone and threw her to the ground. They were later able to locate Ford, who was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of stealing and fourth-degree domestic assault.

May 6

4:39 a.m.: James A. Clark, 40, of Warsaw, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a welfare check on a subject sleeping in a vehicle. Clark consented to a search of the vehicle and was found in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

12:17 p.m.: Faith E. Stonecipher, 20, of the 700 block of East 14th Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. Two suspects were stopped after attempting to shoplift; the adult subject was released with a summons.

Incidents

May 3

10:37 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a burglary. They gathered information for a report.

6:08 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. They spoke with the reporting party, who said two male subjects entered the business, stole a few items and then fled on foot. Officers were unable to locate the suspects but were able to identify them from video.

May 4

3:29 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to an assault. They spoke with the reporting party and gathered information for a report.

11:24 a.m.: A victim came into the SPD lobby to report his trailer had been stolen from the 400 block of East Seventh Street. It was last seen at a relative's house. The trailer was listed in the system as stolen.

8:15 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to fraud. The complainant stated a white female came into the store to buy various items with counterfeit currency. The female was described but has not been identified at this time.

May 5

6 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1100 block of Wilkerson Street to what was reported as a suicidal subject with a firearm. With assistance from the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol, a perimeter was established around the residence. Officers spoke with the subject, who agreed to come without incident. It was determined to be a false report.

Arrests

May 3

10:04 p.m.: Clifford Wood, 62, of Sedalia, was arrested after deputies responded to the 4200 block of West Main Street for a domestic disturbance. After an on-scene investigation, Wood was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

May 5

1:35 a.m.: Scott A. Manion, of Sedalia, was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying license plates that expired in 2020. K9 Lord did an open-air search of the vehicle and alerted to narcotics. During a probable cause search, deputies found methamphetamine. Manion was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for possession of a controlled substance.

Arrests

May 3

7:33 p.m.: Rob-Roy J. Kelly, 48, of Independence, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated with a person under 17 in the vehicle and speeding. He was transported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and released.

11:32 p.m.: Ryan M. Key, 31, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and failure to yield to emergency lights and sirens. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

May 4

1:47 a.m.: Brandon T. Burton, 28, of Whiteman Air Force Base, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, speeding and failure to affix license plates. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

9:20 p.m.: Kayla J. Trainer, 27, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County for felony child endangerment, driving while intoxicated, failure to drive in the right half of the road, driving with a revoked license and two warrants. She was transported to the Johnson County Jail and released.

9:35 p.m.: Joshua W. Wanjerin, 31, of California, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while intoxicated - prior offender. He was released for medical treatment.

10:44 p.m.: Thomas L. Meyer, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and a headlight violation. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

11:38 p.m.: Cordero B. Anderson, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for felony driving while intoxicated, felony resisting arrest and driving with a revoked license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

May 5

2:23 a.m.: John T. Oldham, 59, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
