This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
7:01 p.m.: Officers conducted a sex offender compliance check in the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue to ensure the offender was complying with Halloween restrictions. The offender wasn't home as dictated but was able to later show he was at work. Because they had a reasonable explanation as provided by the statute, no charges are being requested.
7:33 p.m.: Officers conducted compliance checks with community sex offenders to ensure they were abiding by Halloween restrictions. During a check in the 2500 block of Southwest Boulevard, the person who answered the door said the suspect was likely at work, however, no notice had been provided to the sheriff's office as required. Efforts to contact the suspect were unsuccessful. A charge of failing to adhere to Halloween restrictions is being requested.
