A 36-year-old driver from Clinton and a 28-year-old occupant were killed at 1:59 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, in a Henry County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report a 36-year-old man from Clinton was driving a 2023 Tesla Model S on Missouri Highway 18 at Southwest 100th Road when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck several trees, overturned and caught fire.
Both subjects were pronounced dead at the scene by Henry County coroner Paul Abbott and were released to the Henry County Coroner's Office. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, the occupant’s restraint status is unknown.
