A Lincoln man, 43, received minor injuries at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Henry County accident. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the driver was responding to a fire emergency in a 1995 Freightliner and failed to maintain control of the vehicle. It ran off the right side of Route V, the driver overcorrected, traveled off the left side, struck an embankment and overturned.
He was not wearing a seat belt, and was transported to Research hospital in Kansas City by Golden Valley ambulance District.
A 3-year-old boy from Holden suffered moderate injuries, a 5-year-old girl from Holden suffered moderate injuries, and a 29-year-old woman from Holden suffered moderate injuries at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in a Johnson County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, The woman was driving a 2000 Ford F-150 east on Missouri Route 2 when she crossed the center line causing an oncoming 1998 Mack dump truck, driven by a 43-year-old man from Warrensburg, to swerve to avoid the collision. The Ford struck the Mack truck's front left tire, left the roadway and overturned.
No one in the Ford was wearing a seat belt. The two children were transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, the Holden woman was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.
