Warsaw kayaker drowns on Truman Lake

A 40-year-old man from Warsaw drowned on the Clear Creek Cove of Truman Lake at 8:10 p.m. March 14.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the man was kayaking on Truman Lake in high winds, fell out of the kayak and drowned due to the temperature of the water.

The man was recovered after a week of searching at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23. 

He was not wearing a life preserver. His body was released to the Benton County Coroner.

Mississippi trucker seriously injured in Henry County accident

A Matheson, Mississippi man, 60, suffered serious injuries at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, March 23, in a Henry County accident.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the man was driving a 2023 Volvo tractor and 2022 Wabash trailer north on Missouri Highway 7, near County Road NW 700, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, became airborne and jack-knifed.

It's unknown if the man was wearing a seat belt, he was transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City by Golden Valley Ambulance District.

Clinton motorcyclist seriously injured in Johnson County crash

A 66-year-old man from Clinton suffered serious injuries at 1:49 p.m. Friday, March 21, in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, he was driving at 2003 Harley Davidson north on MO 13, south of Business 13, when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a MoDOT sign and was ejected.

He was not wearing a helmet and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Eldon driver hurt in Morgan County accident

An Eldon man, 25, suffered minor injuries at 5:36 p.m. Friday in a Morgan County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, he was driving a 2020 Nissan Altima west on Missouri Highway 52, west of Route AA, when he crossed the centerline and struck a trailer being towed by a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 56 year old man from Barnett east. The Altima then struck a 2012 Ford Fusion driven east by a 59 year old man from Eldon.

Everyone was wearing a seat belt, the injured Eldon man was transported by Mid MO Ambulance District to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
