Smith-Cotton volleyball lost its season opener to Odessa 25-21, 25-23 and 25-19 on Thursday, Aug. 27, in Odessa.
“Our girls competed with a lot of fight against Odessa,” first-year head coach McKenzie Simons said in a statement. “We had some great stretches of volleyball where we executed well, played aggressively, and put ourselves in position to make plays. There were also moments where we needed to regroup and find our rhythm, and I was proud of how they battled instead of giving in.”
The Lady Tigers visit Osage on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
