This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 12

1 p.m.: Brian L. Graf, 44, was arrested on a charge of second-degree property damage. On April 8, an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to damage to a door. The complainant said the glass to a front door had been damaged. On April 12, the officer contacted the suspect, Graf, and placed him under arrest.

April 13

2:30 a.m.: Darren L. Marconette, 49, of the 1100 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance in a county jail. Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of West Seventh Street in reference to a disturbance. They spoke with both residents inside the home. A computer check of one subject, Marconette, showed he had an active warrant from Pettis County. The officer arrested him and took him to Bothwell Regional Health Center, where he was cleared for confinement. During a detailed search at the Pettis County Jail, officers reportedly found a small baggie containing methamphetamine on his person.

Incidents

April 11

5 p.m.: A subject came to the police station lobby to report someone had assaulted him, inflicted damage to his vehicle in excess of $1,000 and stole personal property totaling more than $600. The complainant is willing to assist with prosecution, and the officer has identified subjects in the case. Investigation is pending.

April 12

5:10 a.m.: Officers assisted Pettis County Sheriff’s Office deputies in the 4200 block of West Main Street. Officers were advised a male subject was holding a crossbow to his body and threatening to kill himself. Officers were also told the subject would not let his family leave the residence. Officers and deputies were able to make contact with the man. After talking with him, he allowed his family to leave and surrendered a short time later. Deputies took him into custody.

5 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a report of a large physical disturbance with weapons in the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue. When they arrived, everyone was gone from the area. They spoke with the caller, a neighbor who witnessed the event. As they spoke, people began to come out of the residences and gather around. The officers were told the disturbance was connected to a prior disturbance that occurred the previous day. Several people contacted SPD later to report being assaulted or having property damaged in the disturbance. The Criminal Investigations Bureau received information to look into further.

Arrests

April 12

5:30 p.m.: Joseph B. Murphy, 35, of Higginsville, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felony driving with a revoked license, felony fleeing, speeding, not having insurance and lane violation. Troopers also served a felony Johnson County warrant and a misdemeanor Lafayette County warrant.

6:20 p.m.: Michael L. Kreisel, 39, of Cole Camp, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving with a suspended license, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash, and leaving the scene of a vehicle accident.

10:50 p.m.: Bradley J. Wright, 32, of Bethalto, Illinois, was arrested in Henry County on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, and failure to display valid license plates.
