This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 23

4:55 p.m.: Lori Ann Roberts, 39, of Mora, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer was dispatched to an accident at East Broadway Boulevard and South Montgomery Avenue. He spoke with Roberts and found her license was suspended.

March 24

4:20 a.m.: Shawn M. Steele, 21, of the 22000 block of Route H, was arrested on charges of felony first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and shoplifting. Jessica K. Wissman, 33, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree tampering with the property of another. Officers approached a vehicle in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard, as they had prior knowledge of it being stolen from Iowa. The officers took a passenger in the car into custody and learned the driver, Steele, was inside a nearby business. They relayed this information to other officers in the area, and Steele was located while coming out of the business. When he came outside, officers reportedly found he had shoplifted. Dispatch confirmed the vehicle was stolen, and a search inside revealed drugs and drug paraphernalia. The officers also located and took into custody a missing juvenile.

8:10 p.m.: Ronnie C. Huffstutler, 29, of the 400 block of East Seventh Street, received a municipal court summons for stealing. Christina M. Borst, 21, of the 400 block of East Seventh Street, received a municipal court summons for stealing and assault. Officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. Dispatch relayed the employees of the business were trying to apprehend Huffstutler and Borst, who had reportedly been shoplifting before they ran outside toward an off-duty police officer. The off-duty officer was able to detain the two subjects until more officers arrived to take them into custody. Both were released from the Pettis County Jail with municipal court summonses. Borst received an additional charge of assault for trying to kick the off-duty officer.

March 25

9:50 a.m.: Byron A. Guider, 32, of the 1200 block of South Ohio Avenue, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, felony resisting arrest, driving with a revoked license, careless and imprudent driving, and not having proof of insurance. An officer was in the area of West 13th Street and South Ohio Avenue to follow up on a hit-and-run investigation. As she pulled up to the intersection, a vehicle backed away from a residence and did a burn out in front of her. Northbound traffic behind the car backed up and went in another direction while the driver continued to burn out. The officer made contact with the driver, Guider, and asked for identification and a license. Guider reportedly said he didn’t have to comply because he was on private property. The officer asked him again to identify himself, and he started to take off. The officer reached out to stop him and grabbed his shirt as he tried to get away. An unknown drug was found on Guider’s person and will be submitted to the Missouri State Highway Patrol for analysis.

11:20 p.m.: Hakeem S. Dickson, 20, of the 600 block of East 16th Street, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. An officer was dispatched to the 2400 block of Greenwood Lane for a noise complaint. He spoke with the occupants of a car playing music loudly. A computer check of one of the occupants, Dickson, showed he had an active Pettis County failure to appear warrant. When the officer confirmed the warrant, he arrested Dickson and reportedly found marijuana in his pockets.

Incidents

March 24

9:10 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the Pettis County Museum for a report of a burglary. The reporting party said someone took more than an estimated $11,000 in antiques and antique firearms from the museum sometime over the past three months. The officer identified possible leads and took photos of the scene. An investigation is ongoing.

March 25

6:25 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of East 16th Street on a theft report. The reporting person said someone stole a 16-foot utility trailer from the property sometime 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. that day.

7:05 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of West 11th Street on an assault report. The reporting person said two subjects, whom she knew, assaulted her the day before about 11:30 p.m.

Incidents

March 22

6:25 p.m.: Deputies took a report of a possible minor assault that occurred in the 4200 block of West Main Street. No injuries were reported. An investigation continues.

March 24

12:45 a.m.: Bryce P. Robejsek, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

7:57 p.m.: Nicholas A. Howe, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated, not having insurance, failure to display valid license plates and property damage. Troopers also served a Benton County misdemeanor warrant.

8 p.m.: Ronald L. Howe, 33, of Green Ridge, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of felony property damage, driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, not having insurance, displaying the license plates of another and failure to register a vehicle. Troopers also served a Pettis County misdemeanor warrant.

March 25

12:10 a.m.: Lloyd M. Rickman, 47, of Platte City, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony fleeing, driving while intoxicated, speeding, not having proof of insurance, and careless and imprudent driving.

2:30 a.m.: Timothy L. Branch, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

5:10 p.m.: Trenton R. Willis, 18; Tiara N. Tindell, 18; and Trey Goodson, 19, all of Sedalia, were arrested in Benton County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
