This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 24

12:55 p.m.: Kalah Dawn Linsdey, 25, of the 800 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault. A complainant called the police department saying Lindsey had just attacked him. When officers arrived, she and the complainant gave their accounts of the incident. The stories from both were similar enough for the officers to see there was a primary physical aggressor. The complainant had marks on his neck, face and shoulder. Lindsey’s hands reportedly had blood on them.

May 25

2:05 a.m.: Emmanuel R. Reeders, 27, of the 700 block of East Ninth Street, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of stolen property, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and resisting a felony arrest. Christopher A. Byrd, 21, of the 1100 block of South Harding Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a broken brake light. A computer check of the driver, Byrd, showed his license was suspended, and the officer placed him under arrest. A computer check of the passenger, Reeders, showed he had an active warrant from Pettis County for first-degree burglary. He fled on foot, but the officer was able to apprehend and arrest him.

Incidents

May 24

12:05 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a theft. The victim reported his gun had been taken from the business between 11:30 and 11:50 a.m.

3:10 p.m.: An officer responded to the area of West 18th Street and South Barrett Avenue for a hit-and-run accident. He met with a witness who said a blue Ford Mustang collided with a parked Toyota Tundra on South Barrett Avenue. The Mustang then fled the scene of the accident. The witness said she knew the Mustang frequented the area and has seen it several times. While investigating, the suspect parked the Mustang behind a residence south of the crash location and went inside. Other neighbors who knew the officer was looking for a blue Mustang spotted it and led him to it. The officer spoke with the suspect, who admitted to crashing and leaving the scene. He placed the suspect under arrest on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and not having insurance.

4:10 p.m.: A complainant came to the police station to report a theft from a business in the 3800 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The complainant said a subject came into the store April 23 and purchased a 22-horsepower John Deere lawn mower with a stolen credit card. The value of the theft is $2,899. The complainant said several stores in the region have suffered similar losses from the same method of illegal purchase.

Arrests

May 24

10:50 p.m.: Ashley Blair Mock, of Otterville, was arrested on charges of felony driving with a revoked or suspended license, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force arrested Mock after stopping her vehicle for wrong vehicle tags and a broken taillight in the area of U.S. Route 50 and Route W.

Incidents

May 23

1:55 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Sedalia Middle School in reference to an assault that had occurred on school property. A 19-year-old suspect assaulted a juvenile while attending a school function. The suspect was arrested the next day on charges of fourth-degree assault and peace disturbance. The case has been submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office.

Arrests

May 24

2:50 p.m.: Bobbie J. Szczodroski, 37, of Stover, was arrested in Benton County on charges of boating while intoxicated and insufficient number of life jackets.

10:20 p.m.: Richard R. Tseona, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain the right half of the roadway.

May 25

1:50 a.m.: Dillon J. Edens, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
