Closures on Winchester Drive will continue next week after work was delayed last week due to weather.
According to a news release, Winchester Drive will be closed from the roundabout at Highway Y to north of the intersection with West 10th Street at 6 a.m. June 10 through 7 a.m. June 12. The intersection at West 10 Street will be closed during this period.
Drivers will need to plan a different route and avoid this area to ensure they arrive at their destinations on time and to assist in keeping congestion to a minimum so roadway improvements can be made safely.
Businesses in the area have been advised of the road work and closure. Residents accessing the Eye Clinic at 1200 Winchester will need to access the clinic via West 12th Street.
The work completed during the road closure will be the grinding of the existing roadway and those ground materials will then be injected with a polymer to establish the new road base. The roadway will be re-opened to allow for the polymer to cure or harden. From June 13-24, the roadway will be open to through traffic, but will not have a “finished” surface.
