Dear Editor:

I would like to urge the people of Sedalia to attend the Sedalia Concert Band performances which take place on Thursday evenings from now until the end of July. Anyone that enjoys live music should take in a performance and see what it's like. The best part about it (besides the good music) is the price — it's FREE and the band performs inside Convention Hall in Liberty Park, which is air-conditioned. The concerts start at 7:30 p.m. every Thursday, except next week, when it will be on Wednesday, July 3rd. There is quite a variety of music — marches, show tunes, ballads, TV themes, and even some music from the movies. The July 3rd concert will feature a lot of patriotic music and a salute to the different branches of the service. It is usually a fan favorite.

The Sedalia Concert Band is celebrating their 122nd season this year. There are very few cities that have something like this. The concerts are always well attended, but there is always room for more. I have attended for over 35 years and look forward to each and every season. Won't you join me?
