Laura Beatty, celebrated her 100th birthday recently at the Sedalia Country Club with her friends from as far away as Italy, Louisville, Kentucky, and Kansas City.
Laura was married to the late John Beatty, who built the aapartments on Winchester Drive called Winchester Apartments. They met in Europe after World War II and came back here in 1947. She was from Pisa, Italy originally.
Laura resides in Walnut Hills with her sister Mary, also from Italy formerly of Virginia, Minnesota.
Before retiring, Laura was the buyer and saleswoman at CW Flower Dry Goods Co. in Sedalia for many years.
