Due to recent rain, the City of Sedalia lifted the burn ban, effective Aug. 2.
Recreational fire pits are again authorized to be used. The Sedalia Fire Department still urges the community to use caution when burning and to never leave a fire unattended. Any burning of brush piles still requires a burn permit.
Pettis County also lifted its burn ban, effective Aug. 2.
Residents who are going to burn should contact Pettis County Joint Communications at 660-826-8100 before burning so appropriate authorities are notified.
