Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa
The Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, international honorary sorority for women educators, met Monday, March 22, via Zoom. Thirty-six members were present.
President Marina Scheiner presided. Rena Vanderpool shared a poem titled “Spring Blessing.”
Holli Goodrich, secretary, presented minutes of the February meeting, and Mary Beatty, treasurer, gave the treasurer’s report. Both reports were accepted.
Amy Woolery reported for the Altruistic Committee that ADK members volunteered 200 hours during the last year. Jennifer Walker and Melissa Stone reported that the By-laws Committee is working on the procedures and policies handbook.
Scholarship applications will go out to nine area high schools. Andrea Eppenauer reported that one $750 scholarship will be awarded with preference to someone in the education field, but not a requirement.
Kristee Lorenz reported a donation will be sent to the Community Café in July. A chairperson is needed for the Relay for Life Committee.
As of right now, the Garage Sale will be held on June 4.
Two certificates of congratulations have been received for two sisters: Brandi LaCasse for 10 years membership in ADK, and Patty Ferguson for 34 years in ADK.
The door prize was won by Kathy Hiatt.
