Kansas woman seriously injured in Henry crash

A Louisburg, Kansas, woman sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jaydyn L. Coons, 19, was driving west in a 1999 Chevrolet S10 on Route C, east of Northeast 1201 Road, when she traveled off the right side of the road. The vehicle returned to the road, then traveled off the left side of the road, overturning and striking a tree. Coons was ejected.

Coons, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Tennessee man killed in Pettis accident

An Evansville, Tennessee, man was killed in a vehicle accident at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Roger A. Reid, 69, of Lincoln, was driving a 2021 Buick Encore south on U.S. Highway 65 south of Sacajawea Road when a pedestrian, 52-year-old Mark A. Eduardos, entered the roadway from the east. Reid’s vehicle struck Eduardos. 

Eduardos was pronounced dead by a doctor at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Two women hurt in Pettis County crash

Two women were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 1:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27 in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Karen R. Miller, 78, of Sunrise Beach, was driving a 2013 Cadillac west on U.S. Highway 50 at Daviess Road as Lauri A. Govin, 51, of Depere, Wisconsin, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche eastbound. Miller traveled off the right side of the road, returned to the road, crossed over the median and struck Govin’s vehicle.

Govin sustained minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. Miller sustained moderate injuries and was taken by the Pettis County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Reports indicate both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Man arrested for DWI in Henry County wreck

An Independence man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28 in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Wesley K. Hauer, 49, was driving a 2018 Jeep Wrangler north on Route N, north of Northwest 1200 Road, when he traveled off the right side of the road and returned to the roadway. He then traveled off the left side of the road, returned to the roadway, traveled off the right side of the road and returned to the roadway again. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road another time and struck a culvert.

Hauer, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Golden Valley ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with minor injuries.

Hauer was arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license, and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash. He was released for medical treatment.
