Four teens hurt in Morgan County accident

A 16-year-old girl from Gravois Mills, a 16-year-old girl from Jefferson City, a 17-year-old girl from Gravois Mills, and Justin J. Williams, 19, of Gravois Mills, all sustained minor injuries at 6:05 p.m. Thursday in a Morgan County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mills was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado south on Landing Lane and jerked the steering wheel to the left while accelerating, causing the vehicle to lose traction and skid sideways. The driver over-corrected and the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

No one was wearing a safety device except for the Gravois Mills 16-year-old, who was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. Williams was also transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. The other two teens were transported by private vehicle to Lake Regional Hospital.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
