Sylker R. Lewis, 31, of Gravois Mills, drowned at 7:29 p.m. Monday in Benton County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Sylker waded into the water of Truman Lake near Shawnee Bend to retrieve a snagged net and drowned. He was not wearing a life preserver.
His body was released to the Benton County Coroner.
Benjamin Richards, 40, of Concordia, and Zeshan Siddiqua, 47, of St. Joseph, suffered moderate injuries at 2:38 p.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Siddiqua was driving a 2015 Toyota Sienna south on the northbound lanes and struck a 2010 Ford Escape driven by Richards head-on.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
