CRU serves warrants served on two suspected drug houses

The Sedalia Police Department announced two warrants served by the Crime Resolution Unit at separate locations on Thursday, Nov. 17 uncovered controlled substances, leading to four arrests.

The first raid, at 7:35 a.m., had members of the Special Response Team, criminal investigations unit and crime resolution unit respond to a residence in the 900 block of South Kentucky Avenue for a drug-related warrant. Two individuals were detained and a search located controlled substances; the 32-year-old man and 32-year-old woman have not been formally charged.

At 7:52 a.m., members of the Special Response Team, criminal investigations unit and crime resolution unit responded to a residence in the 500 block of South Barrett Avenue to serve a drug-related search warrant. Several adults were detained without incident and after an investigation and search, two subjects were arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold; a 31-year-old man has not been formally charged.

Daniel E. Howard, 46, of the residence, was charged with second-degree drug trafficking and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. He was issued a $250,000 bond, cash or surety. An arraignment took place Nov. 18 in Pettis County Circuit Court. A hearing for attorney status is scheduled for Nov. 29.
