At 8:35 p.m. Sunday, a fatal traffic accident occurred at the intersection of South Limit Avenue and West 16th Street.
According to a Sedalia Police Department news release, the investigation revealed a Jeep headed north collided with a Hyundai stopped in the inside northbound lane of South Limit Avenue near West 16th Street. The impact caused the Hyundai to travel forward and collide with the rear of a Dodge.
After the initial impact, the Jeep traveled in reverse before leaving the west side of the roadway and collided with the decorative “Welcome to Missouri State Fair” display.
The driver of the Jeep died on scene. The crash is still under investigation.
