AIR artists for December

The Liberty Center Association for the Arts has three Artists In Residence this month. Glenda Miller is a painter and fiber artist, Nance Smith is a quilter and needle artist and Joyce Harrison makes jewelry and does beading.

The Artists In Residence will be creating from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 23 and 30.

Comedy night

Join Keith Butts and friends for an evening of stand-up comedy at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15. The event will feature the talents of Ryan Trickey with opening act Jake Redpath.

Trickey is a Kansas City stand-up comic and cohost of @catchatryingstar standup showcase at The RINO in KC and cohost of @settodestroypodcast. He is also the house MC at the Kansas City Improv and has opened for comedians like Doug Stanhope, Sal Vulcano, Big Jake Oakerson, Dave Attel and many more.

This show is for ages 17 and older. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Hayden Liberty Center, 111 W. Fifth St., or libertycentersedalia.com.

'A Christmas Carol’

Charles Dickens’ classic, "A Christmas Carol," will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16.

The Essential Theatre brings to life this familiar story in a staged reading of the timeless classic tale about Ebenezer Scrooge, given one last chance at redemption by four visiting ghosts.
