Fourth annual Wear Red for Women Feb. 24

Posted

Thanks to the work of the Wear Red for Women committee and the Bothwell Foundation, 47 area parks, event centers, churches and more have life-saving automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to help provide care in an emergency like the one Kelsey Roberts experienced. Since 2020, the committee and foundation have hosted the Wear Red for Women luncheon and auction that has raised funds to place AEDs everywhere people work, learn, pray or play in Sedalia and the surrounding area.

In 2023, the committee will host the fourth event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 24 at The Foundry 324 event center in downtown Sedalia in partnership with Bothwell Regional Health Center and Missouri Heart Center. Committee co-chairs are Lori Wightman, Bothwell CEO, and Dianne Simon, Thompson Hills Investment Corporation vice president. A heart-healthy lunch, a cooking demonstration, and an auction of red purses, luggage, wallets, scarves and more are planned.

People or businesses interested in supporting the fourth annual Wear Red for Women event should contact Lauren Thiel-Payne, Bothwell Foundation executive director, at 660-829-7786 or lthiel@brhc.org. Event tickets will be available to purchase in January. To learn more, visit brhc.org/wear-red.
