Monday afternoon, the Sedalia Police Department announced an arrest in the fatal shooting on Friday morning on South Kentucky Avenue. Officers and detectives have been working to investigate more than 40 leads since the incident occurred.

According to a news release, officers and detectives found the suspects involved during the homicide were under the age of 18, so they are considered juveniles.

Lifesaving measures were attempted but Simon died. Pettis County Coroner Skip Smith pronounced Simon dead at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation as detectives continue to follow up on leads. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact SPD Cmdr. David Woolery at 660-827-7823 ext. 1204.
